Biography
Dr. Arisman is the Executive Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS), Indonesia. He has over 25 years of experience in teaching and research supervision at universities in Indonesia. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Development Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. He has extensive experience in curriculum development and as a peer reviewer of teaching and research programs at the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Visiting Professor at Western Sydney University, Australia, and Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. Arisman earned his Master’s Degree in Economics and Public Policy and a PhD Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Indonesia.
Arisman has been involved in various research projects and consultancies to ASEAN, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the German Development Agency (GIZ), the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Arisman has provided policy advice and professional training to a broad range of government and local government, business, and civil society organizations in Indonesia as well as ASEAN Countries. He has advised ASEAN countries on a range of multi-disciplinary development issues.
