Biography
Zuhairan Yunmi Yunan is currently a Senior Research Fellow at CSEAS Indonesia and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah in Jakarta. He is a prominent academic and researcher in the field of economics, specializing in corruption, governance, and Islamic economics. He has made significant contributions to understanding the economics of corruption, particularly within the Indonesian context.
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Canberra, Australia, in 2023, where his thesis focused on the economics of corruption at the sub-national level in Indonesia. His academic journey also includes a Master’s degree in Productivity and Quality Improvement from the National University of Malaysia and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Development Studies from the University of Lampung.
Zuhairan has been recognized for his scholarly work, receiving awards such as the Best Conference Paper at the Australia New Zealand Regional Science Associations International Conference in 2022. He has participated in various research grants and projects aimed at enhancing higher education and governance practices in Indonesia. His publication record includes numerous articles in reputable journals, Additionally, he is actively involved in academic conferences and workshops, sharing his insights on economic issues and contributing to the discourse on anti-corruption measures in Indonesia. Through his leadership and research efforts, Zuhairan is committed to advancing knowledge and fostering good governance practices within the region.
