Biography
Andi Tabrani is an economist with 30 years of experiences in oil and gas industry and regional development planning. With his background in economic assessment, policy formulation and studies on energy outlook, Andi has been involved in formulating national initiatives and fiscal enhancement to advance upstream and downstream oil and gas projects. Also, his expertise in regional development planning, where he has conducted in-depth economic analyses to measure the multiplier effect of investment plans and identification of economic key sectors in many regions in Indonesia, further highlighting his capability in economic evaluation and strategic planning.
Andi holds a PhD in Economics from University of Brunei Darussalam, sponsored by Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarship. His doctoral research was centered on the environmental economics and policies, with a particular focus on environmental valuation, ASEAN economic growth and emission, carbon trading and environmental tax.
Andi’s research interests are driven by his passion for further exploring the intersection of economics, fiscal and policy in oil and gas industry, including:
Fiscal and Policy Analysis in Oil and Gas Industry. The intention is to identify strategies that promote investment, innovation, and sustainability while maximizing socio-economic benefits by designing fiscal system and policies that strike a balance between government revenue generation, industry competitiveness, and investment attractiveness
Upstream and Downstream Projects Economic Assessment. This aims in optimizing resource allocation, mitigate risks, and enhance project viability by developing suitable economic modeling to provide insights into project feasibility, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
